Senior Landman (on-site)

Walker Elliott is working with an upstream oil and gas company in Denver, CO, looking to hire Senior Landman. As a Landman you will play a crucial role in managing their land assets specifically in the DJ basin, conduct title research, negotiate agreements, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in the DJ Basin area. Additionally, your experience in the DJ operations will be invaluable in contributing to their exploration and development efforts. This is full time position with a strong base, bonus and LTI. The position will be onsite, and it will report to Land Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive title research and due diligence to determine ownership, leasehold interests, and surface rights within the DJ Basin.
• Negotiate and draft various agreements, including leases, contracts, surface use agreements, and rights-of-way.
• Coordinate with landowners, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to secure necessary permits and approvals for exploration and development activities.
• Provide expertise and guidance on land-related issues, including leasing strategies, land acquisition, and land management practices.
• Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and other team members to identify and evaluate potential drilling locations and prospects.
• Represent the company in negotiations, meetings, and industry events to build relationships and promote our interests within the local community and with industry partners.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Land Management, Energy Management, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• 3+ years of experience as a Landman, with a focus on the DJ Basin region.
• Strong understanding of title examination, land acquisition processes, and oil and gas leasing principles.
• Proficiency in interpreting legal documents, including deeds, leases, contracts, and regulatory statutes.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing oil and gas operations, including surface use, environmental compliance, and permitting requirements.
